Health Data & Google Health Connect

FitSense AI integrates with Google Health Connect to provide a comprehensive fitness tracking experience. This section discloses how we access, collect, use, and share health data obtained through Health Connect.

Data We Access and Collect

With your explicit permission, FitSense AI may read and/or write the following health data types through Google Health Connect:

• Steps — Daily step count data
• Heart Rate — Heart rate measurements from connected devices
• Active Calories Burned — Calories burned during activity
• Distance — Distance covered during runs and walks
• Exercise Sessions — Workout and exercise session records

How We Use This Data

Health Connect data is used solely to provide core functionality within the FitSense AI application:

• Displaying your daily fitness metrics on the home dashboard
• Tracking and logging your workouts and runs
• Providing personalized fitness insights and progress tracking
• Maintaining a centralized health and activity record

Data Sharing & Protection

Your Health Connect data is processed locally on your device or securely transmitted to your personal profile database (hosted on Supabase) to provide the features described above. Health data is associated with your authenticated account and is not accessible to other users.

Data Retention

Your health data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time from the app settings. Upon account deletion, all health data is permanently removed from our servers.

Location Data

FitSense AI collects location data to provide its run tracking features.

Data We Collect

• GPS Location (Fine Location) — Used to track your running route, distance, and pace in real-time during active run sessions.
• Approximate Location (Coarse Location) — Used as a fallback when fine location is unavailable.
• Background Location — Collected only during an active run session so tracking continues if you switch apps or lock your screen.

How We Use This Data

• Displaying your real-time running route on a map during active runs
• Calculating distance, pace, and speed for your run sessions
• Generating post-run route maps and performance summaries

When Location Is Collected

Location data is collected only when you actively start a run tracking session. FitSense AI does not track your location in the background at any other time.
